Announcing the 2025 Credit Union Art Competition

The 2025 Credit Union Art Competition has been launched. This year's theme is 'The Future Is'.

Budding artists are invited to put on their thinking caps, get out the paints and chalk, and interpret the theme (those entering the Additional Needs competition do not have to interpret the theme.)

We are looking for colour, creativity, excitement, energy and an image that fills the page! Every year, artists who enter our local stage progress to the Chapter and National level competitions. Will this be you in 2025???

There are two competitions - General and Additional Needs. Within each competition are five age categories: Under 5's, 8 to 10, 11 to 13, 14 to 17, and 18 and over. Your age category is determined by what age you will be on 31st December 2025. Be sure to enter your date of birth on the entry form and not the date you are submitting your piece!

Local schools are invited to encourage their pupils to enter, but you don't have to attend a school to enter! The competition is open to everyone who lives or works in either the BT47 or BT48 post code areas. We especially welcome entries in the 18 years and over category.

Full rules are included in the entry form which must be completed and attached to the back of your work of art. Submissions with incomplete forms or missing entry forms will not be judged. Please read the rules carefully for size, layout and other rules - including the fact that computer aided designs are not allowed.

The deadline for submitting your entry is Friday, 10th October, at Derry Credit Union, Abbey Street, and Derry Credit Union, Main Street in Claudy.
